Inspired by Nature - Take 2

This is the same technique as I used in my previous post. This was a card that I played around with to come up with my swap card, see previous post. In this card, I used Vanilla Craft pad instead of the white craft pad, but I do not like the effect as much in this card. There is not enough contrast. I do like the design of the card, so I'd thought that I would show it.

Inspired by Nature

This is a card that I made for a demonstrator swap at my Upline's meeting.

I used a technique called "Faux Dry Embossing". What you do is stamp the image using a white craft pad. Then, using Stampin' Up!'s Stampin Ma-jig, you stamp the color of your cardstock (i.e. Kiwi Kiss Stamp pad on the Kiwi Kiss cardstock). You just center it slighty off from the main image. This gives you a embossed effect. Pretty cool, huh? Cool enough to win me 2nd place in the card contest. Sweet beans!

Just Jawing and the Big Shot

Here is another sample card using the new Stampin' Up! Just Jawing set. I also used the negative cut out from the Top Note Bigz die. I just love how it frames the card. This set is too fun. I have also seen the skull done with a pirate hat on, which is TOO cute. Will have to try that!

Recipe:

Stamps: Just Jawing
C/S: Basic black, Whisper White, DSP Ghostly Greetings
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: Bit Shot, Top Note Bigz die (Negative piece), Chunky glitter, Pumpkin Pie Striped ribbon, Rinestones from the Pretties kit.

Sunflower Card

This card I made using a tutorial from Andrea Walford's blog, click here to view her awesome blog.
She colored on the stamp using many colors of markers and she then sprayed the stamp with water. She called it watercoloring misting with markers. I wanted to try it and I think it turned out good. Enjoy

Recipe:

Stamps: Inspired by nature
C/S: Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, WW
Inks: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Markers: Summer Sun, Really Rust Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke

Just Because

I was playing around with the Top Note Bigz die and wanted to use the "negative" image. The card turned out pretty cute, not completely what I was going for, but not bad.

Recipe:

Stamps: Eastern Blooms
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, WW, Washington Apple DSP
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Circles punches, rinestomes, Top Note Bigz die(negative piece)

Gotta LOVE the Big Shot

I have been having fun playing with my new toy, The Big Shot. Stampin' Up! has teamed up with Sizzix and we now have a die cut machine! So exciting.

These cards were made using the Top Note Bigz die. It is an awesome die to use for a focal and there are SO many things that can be done with it.

I made two versions, both using the new Upsy Daisy set that is an additional 20% off through September. Love this set, it is going to get a lot of use.

I stamped the image first in Baja Breeze and then used the Rock-n-Roll technique with Pacific Point.

Recipe:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Paper: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, WW, Urban Garden DSP
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Top Note Bigz die, Sponge, Pacific Point ribbon, Kiwi Kiss ribbon, dimensionals,
