The Secret Life of Seahores @ The Monterey Bay Aquirium

My Mom & I took the kids to Monterey the week after Calyn's birthday. On the first day, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have a SeaHorse exhibit there called "the Secret Life of Seahorses". Tons of different types in all sizes.

Before kids, Greg & I dove a lot. Seahorese were one of my favorite little creatures to seek out in the ocean.

This is s great exhibit. If you can, you should go see it!

The first photo is of tiny little seahorses, but it is hard to tell, because they are all small. They are about 1/2 inch long.
The second photo is of a bigger "horse" swimming. Check out the fin on his back. That is how they propel themselves through the water.

The last picture is of me & the kids in front of a statue of a male seahorse. Did you know that make seahorse give birth to live babies and then watch over them? Really cool stuff!

Family affair

This is a picture of the Foley family at Calyn's 1st birthday party. It is very rare that we all get into a photo together.

Club Card Swap

We did a card swap a few months ago at my monthly club meeting. The club gals have really stepped up their game. Their cards are amazing. I asked them to use all Stampin' Up products, they could use retired sets but all cardstock & accessories needed to be current.

Both of the cards in this post were the cards that I swapped. I did both in birthday theme, one male and one female. I was aiming towards children's cards, as I never seem to have enough kid's cards for the endless parties that my son gets invited to.

The above picture uses the "Party Hearty" set. The picture below uses a retired set called "Seriously Sassy". It is such a girlie set that I decided to keep it for scrapbooking.

Enjoy!

Jumpy Fun

This is Calyn enjoying the Jumpy that we rented for her birthday. Mostly, the big kids played in it but she did have a few minutes here and there. She doesn't like it when all the other kids are in it making it real bouncy.

This is her & Hayden. He had fun jumping over her in the jumpy, her, not so much!

Neat & Tidy Cottage

For her 1st birthday, Calyn received this cool little playhouse called the Neat & Tidy Cottage from her Papa & Grammie. It has a doorbell, working door & windows and a phone. It was a big hit with all the girls at her party.
These are two pictures of Calyn in her new playhouse. The first picture is of Mia & Calyn.

Yum Cake!

Yum cake! Calyn was bowled over my her birthday cupcake. We did a "cupcake" cake this year. We figured that was better than getting some huge cake her her to dive into and then be wasted.
At first, she wasn't so sure about the frosting, but after a couple of tastes, she liked it! See that face? It says "YumYum"!

Birthday Girl - Calyn turn 1!

Calyn turned 1 on June 6th. We had a big 1st birthday party on Saturday, which happened to be her actual birthday. We had all our friends and family. We rented a huge train jumpy with a slide and some of the kids braved the pool.
The week before the party, the weather was very cool and it was forecasted to to rain on Saturday but the as it turned out, it was sunny and about 75 degrees.
This picture was taken early in the day. We bought her this little plush princess tiara. She only wore it for about 5 minutes, had to get a picture with it on.
